Classical in character, the Lord's Prayer from the Murauer Festmesse (Murau Festive Mass) moves both performers and audience alike with its exceptional depth of expression, and yet it is not difficult to sing. Michael Aschauer has divided the prayer into a song of three verses. The singing voices are supported by the organ or piano accompaniment ad lib, which also enriches this choral piece with an atmospheric prelude, interlude and postlude. The piece can be sung in either English or German (Vater unser).
