Basic (simplified) and Enriched (more challenging) versions of the main reading texts in the Student’s Book support learning in the mixed ability classroom.
Choose A or B tasks occur several times in each unit, enabling the differentiation of sub-competences in the areas of speaking and writing.
A digital audio player allows students to listen at different speeds, so that the students feel comfortable and can increase the speed gradually.
At the end of every unit, each student can take an online progress test, followed by personalised practice based on their test result – so that every student spends time on what they need most. Then they can take another test and see their improved results – this boosts motivation and sustains it throughout the course.
Vocabulary Trainer reinforces key lexis, so students learn core vocabulary from each unit, while Dialogue Karaoke helps students to learn and practise vocabulary and chunks of language, including pronunciation, at their own pace.
Regular unit structure makes Options easy to use both for teachers and students.
Carefully staged classroom lessons take students from reception to production of the core language syllabus, plus ‘You know’ and ‘You can’ goals at the start of every unit make learning objectives clear and make it possible to do a quick check of the learning progress at the end of a unit.
Options offers a wide range of video content as a highly meaningful and entertaining learning tool:
