The Suite Bohème arose from the motivation to transfer the structure and style of electronic dance music to organ music. The first movement still pays tribute to traditional organ music. However, in movements 2 and 3, the ideal of repetition and a modulation through sound, not through harmony, dominates. This concept, which can be found in many DJ sets, has always fascinated me, as it is a radically different form of music, distinguished strongly from the long legacy of organ music.
