New Facets of the Organ
The nine innovative miniatures by Stuttgart composer Jan Kopp invite organists to playfully discover the extraordinary sound potentials of their instrument. Musical-haptic movement patterns such as Bouncing, Beading, or Intersecting provide the impetus to this. The result is a unique bilingual collection of contemporary pieces for professionals, students, and organ pupils already equipped with sufficient experience.
As the exemplary registration suggestions at the end of the booklet point out, these miniatures can be performed not only on organs with different dispositions; they can also be used in a wider variety of ways – whether as a short interlude in church services, as a sequence of diverse character pieces in concerts, or as teaching and competition literature. These Gestures are certain to leave a deep impression on players and listeners alike.
