The five parts of this Festive Suite were composed on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Munich Organ Summer. Each movement is dedicated to one of the five churches represented. The festive opening represents St. Mark’s Church. Echoes of Elysium with its ethereal, unique sounds is dedicated to the Church of the Ascension. The third movement finds its inspiration in the rectilinear architecture of St. Matthew’s Church. The Spirit of the Redeemer meditation refers to the playful architecture of the Church of the Redeemer and at the same time is dedicated to the church’s motto: Redemption – understood as a contrast to stress and restlessness. The impressive final movement Harmony, a festive review, is dedicated to St. Luke’s Church. (Mathias Rehfeldt)
