Next to In the Bleak Midwinter, Love Came Down at Christmas is Christina Rossetti's (1830-1894) second transregional, popular Christmas song. It deals with the divine power of love that was bestowed on humanity through the Christmas miracle of Jesus' birth. This contemplative and sophisticated composition by Chris Artley is dedicated to the New Zealand soprano Gina Sanders and the choir of King's College Chapel in Auckland. It was the winning entry in the Freudig Singers of Western New York Choral Composition Competition in 2017.
