The magical, floating atmosphere of the chorale builds in text and melody a tangible yet reverently distant vision of the action. This fantasia seeks to theatrically interpret and elevate the text – from the bleakness and threatening nature of the bare thorn wood to the sung praises of the ‘blossoming’ miracle.” (Mathias Rehfeldt)
