The idea for the Missa Dominici arose during the pandemic, at a time when singing was barely allowed in church services. The composition revives the old tradition of the organ Mass, where the organ took over the part of the singing at various points of the service. Unlike well-known Mass settings (usually for choir and orchestra), this composition does not set the Ordinarium (Kyrie, Gloria, etc.) to music, but rather the so-called Proprium (Introit, Offertory, Communion, etc.). The musical basis for each piece is different Latin antiphons from the 800-year-old choral tradition of the Dominican Order. The melodies used here come from the Vespers for the Solemnity of St. Dominic.

The edition includes access to the HELBLING MediaApp, which contains recordings of the electronics that can be used as playalongs for rehearsals or performances.
