This Swedish Christmas carol, arranged for four female voices a cappella by Winnie Brückner, tells the story of Staffan the stableman who swung himself up on his horse on Christmas Eve to follow the Star of Bethlehem. Thus the continuously repeated “Hayinninari” is patterned on the hoofbeats of the galloping horse through the Swedish winter landscape.
