This Christmas hymn for four mixed voices a cappella praising the newborn Christ as enlightenment was composed by Stepan Degtyaryov (1766–1813) from Russia. In addition to the Slavonic church lyrics, this edition offers English (Thy Nativity, Christ Our Lord) and German versions (Deine Geburt, Christus unser Gott).
