This solemn and festive composition for mixed voices a cappella was written by Russian composer Mikhail Strokin (1832–1887). Alternating between soloistic passages and full choral sound (up to 6-part), the choral piece can be sung with original Slavonic church lyrics as well as with additional English (The Angels Rejoice) and German (Es freuen sich alle Engel) text versions.
