The Latin Mass is orientated on the tradition of classical church music. The mostly homophonic style of the choral setting impresses especially with a powerful, diversified harmony, but also with deeply felt, expressive melodies. The choir is accompanied by the organ as well as (ad lib) by two violins and a violoncello. Two additional clarinets in Bb that skillfully weave around the voices offer a further alternative for performance. A versatile, poignant Mass not least due to the different options in the instrumentation that dignifies the Holy days of the Church year with its profound, and at the same time, joyously radiant musical language.
