The Kyrie eleison is one of the outstanding sections of the mass taken from Lorenz Maierhofer's Missa Harmonia Mundi. The particular concept behind this new mass is its combination of the Latin testimony of the lyrics sung by the upper choral parts (tenors and B1) with tenets of faith in important languages such as German, English, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Dutch and Korean sung as a counter-part by the basses (B2). Many tongues, one Christian faith – this is the message of Maierhofer's universal mass.
