Born in Switzerland, Eugen Siegfried Rauber, who studied music in Zurich and theology in Munich, worked as a pastor for several years before devoting himself entirely to music. From 1926, after positions in Seckau, Styria and Litomerice, Bohemia, he worked in Bregenz, Austria, as a monastery organist and choir director. For the Catholic Solemnity of the Nativity of Christ, Rauber composed these two short offertories, Laetentur coeli and Tui sunt coeli, on psalm texts that, easy to sing, provide striking, varied music.
