Uwe Henkhaus

Uwe Henkhaus is a research fellow at the Hessian Music Archive of the Philipps University Marburg. He has worked with choirs of all types and styles since 1973; from 1981 to 2004 he was musical director of the European Youth Weeks at Burg Ludwigstein. He has been a member of the music committee of the Hessian Choir Association since 1997 and has taught at the school of choral conducting in Marburg since 2006. Since 2022 he has been the director of the Hessian School for Choir Conducting in Marburg. Uwe Henkhaus has edited numerous works for piano and choir, is a music journalist, author and composer of choral music. Amongst other prizes for composition, he was also awarded the 1987 Otto Ubbelohde Prize and the 2012 Paul Hindemith and Heinrich Mann scholarship for composition.
