Richard Dünser

The Austrian composer Richard Dünser is a professor of music theory and composition in Graz. He studied under Francis Burt in Vienna, later in Cologne (under Hans Werner Henze), and in Tanglewood (USA). Dünser’s career has been distinguished with numerous awards, commissions for music compositions, and scholarships. His works have been performed by well-known artists, ensembles, and orchestras throughout the world, and have been extensively released on audio CDs. Dünser also received international attention for his version of the opera fragment Der Graf von Gleichen, after Franz Schubert (1997). His opera Radek celebrated its premiere performance at the 2006 Bregenz Festival.
