Born in Vienna, studies in violin and composition, teaching career in violin, music theory and arranging at the Johann-Joseph-Fux Conservatory in Graz. He was a scholarship holder at the International Darmstadt Summer Courses and received the Musikförderungspreis (Sponsorship Prize) of the City of Graz as well as the Austrian State Sponsorship Prize. Amongst others, Schaufler has been commissioned to compose for the Graz Opera House, the festivals styriarte, the Lutoslawski festival (Poland), the international choir competition Spittal 2014, the international choir competition Baden Ave Verum 2017, the Austrian Bundesjugendsingen 2013 and 2017 and the Munich Symphony Orchestra 2018.
