This drinking song Laudo vinum (I praise the wine) is based on a text from the Trent Codices, a seven-volume collection that was compiled in the 15th century. Although most of these texts are of a religious nature, this is one of the few secular exceptions. The lightfooted, witty verse creates enthusiasm and this playful mood is expressed in the music by means of a pointed rhythm and modern harmonies. The fact that the music also retains a certain reference to the past makes this choral composition even more appealing.

The University of Primorska Academic Choir (direction: Ambrož Čopi) did the recording (mixed choir).
