This solemn composition consists of two motifs (Kyrie eleison and Christe eleison), eacch of which is first presented as a solo or by the soprano voices. The Kyrie eleison is ultimately augmented by the calmly flowing alto voice, while in the Christe eleison, the calls of the upper and lower voice alternate. The finale is an interweaving of familiar and previously heard motifs. The easily playable piano accompaniment supports the choir parts and calmly propels the composition forward.
