This semi-spiritual was collected by Alan Lomax from the singing of a Negro blacksmith in Louisiana State Penitentiary in 1933. He was an ex-slave, newly converted to Christianity. In the arrangement by Gwyn Arch the four male voices begin a cappella and can optionally be accompanied on the piano.
