This Christmas carol on the events in Bethlehem from the sheperd’s perspective originates in the Netherlands. Lambert Adriaan van Tetterode (1858–1931) arranged the song for four mixed voices a cappella. Edition with Old-Netherland lyrics as well as additional English (The Shepherds Were Lying in Slumber) and German lyrics (Die Schafhirten lagen im Schlafe).
