Maria Makaroff, born in 1970, is a composer and arranger. She composes for the King's Singers, Rajaton, Amarcord and numerous world-renowned vocal ensembles, whereby Finnish folklore and poetry are essential sources of inspiration when composing. In the meantime, her Butterfly has become a global hit in the international scene. In 2012 her first musical for children and adults Kruunulapset was premiered. Mia Makaroff is active as a teacher and choral director and teaches at a music school in Finland.
