Andrew C. Rouse has lived in Hungary for many years, where he is a permanent member of Pécs University’s English Institute staff, teaching British popular culture, oral and popular literature and British social history. He is the founder and lead man of Simply English, a trio that performs all kinds of vernacular English music, mostly folk and broadside ballads. He wrote several handbooks and graded readers. Of recent years, Rouse has also taken up translating Hungarian folk tales and children’s books.
