Simon Wawer's works enjoy international recognition and popularity due to his particularly subtle approach to sound and harmony. He has set his impressions of his visit to the Auschwitz concentration camp in Oremus pro pace (Let us pray for peace) in a poignant manner: The alternation calls for peace in seven languages as well as the Latin invocation embedded in the powerful harmony gives this choral work an almost demanding character. The concern for peace in the world affects every human in the same way and everyone can contribute their own small part in preserving this peace. Oremus pro pace reminds us of this in a reverent, solemn fashion.
